Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our Native Apricot Tea

We use the leaf of Native Apricot (Pittosporum angustifolium). Our farm-grown leaves are gently dried to retain their naturally occurring bioactives.

Native Apricot is traditionally valued for its skin and hormone-related properties. Its leaves contain phenolic and flavonoid compounds, saponins and terpenes — plant molecules known in lab studies for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects.

When consumed as a herbal tea, Native Apricot leaf may help:

  • Support healthy skin and connective tissue
  • Assist circulation and cardiovascular wellness
  • Support hormonal balance and peri/menopausal transitions
  • Provide antioxidant compounds that help protect cells from oxidative stress

These are based on laboratory research and traditional use, not on clinical trials.

Steep 1–2 teaspoons in hot water for 5–10 minutes. For a deeper extraction of the plant’s natural compounds, use a longer steep or gentle simmer.

When consumed as a herbal beverage, Native Apricot leaf tea is generally considered safe for daily use by healthy adults. If pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication or managing a health condition, please consult a health professional.

Native Apricot Tea is positioned for skin, cardiovascular and hormonal support, Wilga Tea for muscle/joint comfort and respiratory support, and Maroon Bush Tea for immune defence and gentle cleanse.

Research has identified phenolics, flavonoids, saponins and terpenes in Native Apricot leaves, which have demonstrated antioxidant, antimicrobial and hormone-modulating activity in laboratory studies. These findings support its traditional use and our choice of leaf for your daily brew.

Testimonials

I put half Wilga and Native Apricot with a tiny bit of honey. Love them both. I'm hoping it will also help with these hot flushes 😳. I'm not a tea drinker, I haven't found a nice herbal tea either but this Wilga and Native Apricot are really really nice.
