Our Sustainability Approach
At Woodleigh Hills, sustainability isn’t a buzzword it’s woven into how we grow, source, create and package every product.
As a proudly Australian natural healing brand, we believe caring for people goes hand in hand with caring for the land. Sustainability, to us, means choosing thoughtful, lower-impact practices that support the body’s natural healing while being mindful of the footprint we leave behind.

Environmental Sustainability
Thoughtful Packaging, Less Waste
We intentionally reduce packaging wherever possible keeping materials minimal and simple without compromising product protection.
This means:
- Less waste created in the first place
- Less recycling for you to manage at home
- No unnecessary layers, fillers or excess wrapping
Our focus is to protect what’s inside the jar not overpackage what’s around it.
We use a combination of glass, bamboo, cardboard and minimal plastic where necessary for safety and functionality. Only one product variant is currently packaged in plastic. A glass alternative is available to wholesalers, and we are working towards transitioning this product to glass across all retail spaces in the future.
We also encourage customers and stockists to return empty vessels for reuse wherever possible and share practical ideas for repurposing jars at home such as seedling propagation, refill storage or household organisation before recycling.
Grown on Our Family Farm
All of our plants are grown on our family farm not wild harvested.
This protects native plant populations and allows us to nurture each plant with care and respect for the land. Growing our own ingredients ensures quality, consistency and sustainability from soil to finished product.
Local Ingredients, Lower Emissions
We source key ingredients as locally as possible to reduce transport impact and support Australian producers.
- Our beeswax is sourced locally in Jamestown.
- Our extra virgin olive oil is sourced within South Australia.
- Our Pink Murray River Salt is sourced from the Murray River region.
Shorter supply chains mean lower emissions, fewer transport miles and stronger regional connections. Every decision considers not just the product but the journey it takes to reach you.
Reuse & Circular Thinking
Wherever possible, we reuse community boxes and packaging materials to extend their life and reduce waste.
This helps keep quality materials out of landfill and supports a more circular, community-minded approach to small business shipping. Small steps, consistently taken, create meaningful impact.
⸻
Economic & Local Sustainability
Where possible, we partner with South Australian suppliers for labels, vessels and production inputs.
Supporting local businesses strengthens regional supply chains, reduces freight distances and builds long-term economic resilience.
⸻
Social Sustainability
We support sustainability through local employment and a flexible, family-friendly working environment.
By employing local team members including working mothers and school leavers we contribute to regional economic participation while fostering practical skills and community connection.
We are also proud to sponsor a number of local individuals and emerging talent, helping strengthen grassroots opportunities and support regional growth
Why This Matters
Sustainability is not about perfection it is about intention.
By growing our own plants, sourcing locally, reducing packaging, encouraging reuse and supporting local employment and suppliers, we aim to create products that are gentle on the body and lighter on the planet.
Every Woodleigh Hills product represents a slower, more considered way of doing business one that respects nature, supports community and keeps things beautifully simple.
